zone service activity. helped clean up a corn maze.

hola hola. the mission is the biggest rollercoaster ride ever. ha, so many ups and downs its crazy. I’ve discovered, however, how true it is that after our trials come the blessings.

Early in the week we got a text from Jorge saying that he just found out that his mom is shipping him off to live in Mexico with his grandma starting thanksgiving week…turns out he could be living there with her for up to a year. sooooo yeah, his baptism date dropped. and he’s bummed, and we’re bummed. But im hoping and praying that we can get the missionaries over to him when he’s in mexico. Thats the beauty of this work, its universal.

So that was the trial..but the blessssingggg is that we wound up with two new english wards! dont really know why…haha i guess they thought it was dumb that the english sisters were covering a whole stake by themselves, so they gave us two of their wards. We went to their sacrament meetings yesterday, met with the bishops, got the scoop on the missionary work, and there is sooooo much work. we’ve already received so many names. im so excited to see how this week goes.
We met with one of our bishops late last night and he gave us a name of an investigator we should go see. dude’s name is Kosmo…haha so strange. Anyway, so we left bishops house, and had about 10 minutes of proselyting time left before we needed to head home. So we decided to go meet this kosmo fella. We knocked on his door, chatted for a little bit on the porch, and he tells us that basically he’s felt like he’s lived his whole life in “darkness” and all he wants is light and peace and he feels like the church is what he needs to make that happen. it was freeeeeeezing though, and it was past 9 oclock (when we’re supposed to be home), so after we shared a little message we asked if we could come back another day, and we left. We were just about home and Hermana fermoso says to me “hermana we didnt even say a prayer with him! we shoud’ve said a prayer with him..” and i was like “shoooot, you’re right…next time for sure.” thought dismissed. I kept driving. then a second later sister fermoso told me that she reeaaaalllly felt like we needed to go back and say a prayer with him. And me (being the stinkin natural man) thought to myself..no thats gonna be so awkward…just showing up at his house again and asking to say a prayer……BUT, the thought came into my head “could i regret NOT doing this…yes….but could i regret DOING it…probably not…” sooo i turn the car around. we knock on his door again, ask if we could say a prayer with him, i said the prayer, and by the end of it he was totally crying…He told us how he’s been going through a lot of rough stuff lately and he really just hasnt ever felt like anyone genuinely loved or cared about him. But he felt that in that moment with us.  He was sooo thankful that we came back to do that.
Long story short, we got in the car and i told Fermoso that she could hit me for doubting her spiritual prompting. hahaha lesson learned. spiritual promptings are real. if it invites to uplift or do good, do it. Its pretty cool to see the result of it.

his investigator made us food yesterday, i ate this plate, she asked if i wanted more, insisted that i said yes, so i was like okay...i could do one more....she says "okay, how about three." literally ate 7 enchiladas. ive literally never been so full in my life.

our district leader gave us this reference to read. i love itttt
D&C 64:
29 Wherefore, as ye are agents, ye are on the Lord’s errand; and whatever ye do according to the will of the Lord is the Lord’s business.
30 And he hath set you to provide for his saints in these last days, that they may obtain an inheritance in the land of Zion.
31 And behold, I, the Lord, declare unto you, and my words are sure and shall not fail, that they shall obtain it.
32 But all things must come to pass in their time.
33 Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great
This is quite the marvelous work. Its for sure the hardest thing ive ever loved to do.
love yall
