6 weeks fly. But good news!!! HERMANA COLE AND I ARE STAYING. we are sooo excited.

But kinda a crazy plot twist, our mission pres has made a new Spanish Zone. Its an effort to build the branches that we as spanish missionaries are serving in. So the spanish zone consists of most of the spanish called missionaries, and all of us are now doing ONLY spanish work. So we all are dropping our english work so that we can focus solely on our branches and the work in spanish. It is going to be soooo hard to pass the Oliver family off to the elders…as well as some other awesome people we’ve worked with in english, but i trust president. He’s an inspired man forsure. And i really feel like this will help me feel like im truly fulfilling the calling that ive been given to serve a spanish speaking mission. Plus like i said, the more time i spend with hispanics, the more white people kinda start to freak me out, so it all works out.
So after last sunday, this whole week we were super pumped about David  and his family. we finished his lessons but wanted to wait and see if he was at church again this week and thennn reset his baptism date. and good news, HE WAS. him and his dad and brother came again. Ah, best thing ever. Sitting next to them and hearing them singing the hymns and everything was the most precious thing…So we will meet with him on tuesday and reset his baptism date!! we are so excited.
But okay now for the miracle of the week. So the branch mission leaders assistant, hermano jesus, is the best guy ever. He’s a convert and has one of the biggest hearts i have ever witnessed…all he wants to do is serve..and do missionary work. Like seriously, thats all he does…So we were in a meeting with him on saturdayand he brings up this family that he met. la familia Vega. Its a mom..and her 2 kids, maria and brandon. Maria is like 23 and brandon is 10. then Maria has 2 kids of her own…a 6 year old and a 2 year old baby girl. They just moved here from El Salvador and they literally have nothing….So after the meeting hermano jesus takes us to go meet them. We knocked on their little trailer door and the mom let us in immediately. Seeing their living conditions was heartbreaking..the trailer was completely empty except for a mattress on the ground and a table in the kitchen. both of which a neighbor had lent to them. We chatted with them, introduced ourselves as missionaries for the church, and told them that we were there to help them. And through the awesome members thats exactly what we did. Between that day and the next, we were able to gather up coats, boots, and sleeping bags for the kids…a couch…some food, a washer and dryer..and several other things. We took it all over to them yesterday night and they were so genuinely grateful. While the elders and hermano jesus moved all the stuff in, hermana cole and i were able to kinda explain our purpose and share a message with them. we shared 3 Nephi 13: 31- 33

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

i love that soooo much. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and take no thought or worry about the rest..Thats such a powerful promise from our Heavenly Father. the vega family welcomed us back, but technically its the elders area..so we dont know if we’ll be the ones teaching them, BUT EITHER WAY. such a cool experience. I love that family already.

hope everyone has an awesome weeeeek. the church is so true. love you all!!
