such a good week in so many ways! had to give a little shout-out to the newest member of the fam! my adorable new nephew, Beau Ezra Kunz!
this week was full of lots of little miracles. The best was saturday!! We took the Vega family to the visitors center. We watched the Restoration movie and taught about the prophet joseph smith. little Niyeli was freakin out the whole movie, running around crying. So i was really worried that they werent feeling the spirit. But, the church is true. and the spirit is real. At the end of the movie we asked them how they liked the movie and what they felt. hermana vega told us that in the scene where God and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith she was overwhelmed with a feeling of happiness and joy in her heart. She was beaming! it was amazing…and gave us the perfect opportunity to teach about the Holy Ghost. I know that the Holy Ghost truly does testify of truth. And that theres no denying that spirit when you feel it. We were also able to show them around the temple and talk more about baptisms for the dead and the other ordinances that we take part in in the temples. they just kept commenting on beautiful it all was. So yeah, it was kinda perfect.
Earlier in the week we received a referral from one of the families in the branch, la familia Meza. Their niece, Marta, just moved here from mexico and is going to be living with them over the summer while she works. They told us that she had talked with missionaries in the past and wanted to know more. We went over and met her the other night and my goodness gracious she is GOLDEN. She had all these questions about the temple and the Book of Mormon and she just soaked everything up. We asked her if she would be interested in taking the discussions and she excepted in a heart beat. She was there at church yesterday and we have our first lesson with her tonight!!
I finished the book of mormon for the first time all the way through in spanish! so this past week i started it over again. Im continuously amazing at the faith of Nephi. We’re so blessed to have the scriptures, full of so many examples and words of comfort. I know this is a very well shared scripture, but i love the words of nephi in chapter 3
7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
The Lord doesnt command us to do anything that he wont help us do. I know that he always provides a way.
love love love you all! have a wonderful week!
